Claudio Reyna

After his retirement from professional soccer in 2008, Claudio launched the foundation with a goal to nurture, encourage and develop the sport in America while fighting poverty and childhood obesity. [1]

Claudio Reyna is a retired American soccer player and the current USSF US Youth Soccer Technical Director. [2]

Claudio represented the United States National team in 4 World Cups from 1994 through 2006, serving as team Captain in 2002 and 2006. Otzi the Iceman

Otzi the Iceman (also spelled Oetzi and known also as Frozen Fritz) is the modern nickname of a well-preserved natural mummy of a man from about 3300 BC, found in 1991 in a glacier of the Otztal Alps, near the border between Austria and Italy. [1]

Otzi the Iceman, also called Similaun Man, Hauslabjoch Man or even Frozen Fritz, was discovered in 1991, eroding out of a glacier in the Italian Alps near the border between Italy and Austria. [2]

It was then that they realized that Otzi the Iceman was one of the most amazing archaeological finds of the century. [3]

Desperate Housewives trial

The inner workings of long-running ABC drama Desperate Housewives will be the subject of a jury trial beginning this week as former castmember Nicollette Sheridan finally gets a chance to try to prove that ABC and series creator Marc Cherry killed off her character after she spoke up about Cherry’s alleged abuse toward her during rehearsals. [1]

Sheridan and Cherry were present in court all day Tuesday. [2]

Sheridan claims her character-memorably electrocuted in 2009-was killed off because she spoke out after Cherry allegedly abused her. [3]

Once lawyers deliver their openings to the jury, Sheridan is expected to testify in her wrongful termination lawsuit against series creator-producer-writer Marc Cherry and ABC. [4]

Handgun-a-month law

Gov. Bob McDonnell signed a bill Tuesday that repeals Virginia’s one-handgun-a-month law, enacted in 1993 when the state was a haven for gun runners. [1]

“Getting rid of the one-handgun-a-month law will make it easier for gun traffickers to purchase handguns in bulk,” she said in a written statement. [2]

Gov. Bob McDonnell has signed a bill that repeals a law limiting individual handgun purchases to one per month, passed in 1993 when Virginia was a haven for gun runners. [3]

“Getting rid of the one-handgun-a-month law will make it easier for gun traffickers to purchase handguns in bulk,” Lori Haas, whose daughter Emily was wounded at Virginia Tech, said in a statement today, the AP reported. [4]
