DURHAM, NC - NOVEMBER 18: Austin Rivers #0 of the Duke Blue Devils dribbles up the court against the Davidson Wildcats during their game at Cameron Indoor Stadium on November 18, 2011 in Durham, North Carolina. [1]

The Wolverines come into this matchup with the Cavaliers off a successful trip to Maui where they defeated then #8 Memphis and UCLA, only losing to eventual champion Duke in the semi-finals. [2]

Ohio State left no doubt as to whether or not it’s a legitimate national title contender by demolishing No. 3 Duke on Tuesday night. [3]

This year’s event - featuring top college basketball programs playing for conference supremacy and the Commissioner’s Cup — will include 11 teams that played in the 2011 NCAA Tournament: Clemson, Duke, Florida State and North Carolina from the ACC, and Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin from the Big Ten. [4]

The Big Ten appears to have the advantage on paper again this year, with Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan and Michigan State all ranked in the AP top 30. [5]

The first is Duke at Ohio State, a likely top-five matchup of Jared Sullinger, William Buford and Aaron Craft against a reloaded Duke team featuring arguably the No. 1 recruit in the country in versatile guard Austin Rivers. [6]

The 13th annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge Presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods Nov. 29-30 will be highlighted by Duke at Ohio State and Wisconsin at North Carolina — four traditional power programs expected to be highly ranked entering the 2011-12 season - and an expanded format to include newest Big Ten member Nebraska. [4]

I’m practically writing a preview already, and the game is still — sigh — more than six months away. [6]

That Big Ten team lost that game, however, as the Virginia Cavaliers were able to get the upset behind 18 points apiece from Mike Scott and Joe Harris. [3]

David Cameron

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

David Cameron is the Conservative Party leader who was asked by Queen Elizabeth II to form a new government as prime minister after the Parliamentary elections of May 2010. [1]

David Cameron became Prime Minister in May 2010 after a General Election in which the Conservative Party won almost 100 additional seats. [2]

David Cameron has shown himself to be an abject failure in representing any platform on which he stood and there is every reason to fear for the economic welfare of this nation. [3]

Find David on Facebook If you would like to contact the Prime Minister, please do so by following the guidance on the Number 10 website. [2]

This occurred upon the resignation of Cameron’s predecessor as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Gordon Brown. [4]

The Conservatives’ unexpected success in the 1992 election led Cameron to hit back at older party members who had criticised him and his colleagues, saying “whatever people say about us, we got the campaign right,” and that they had listened to their campaign workers on the ground rather than the newspapers. [5]

Cameron worked to transform the Conservatives into a less ideological, more centrist party, and in the 2010 parliamentary elections the party secured a plurality. [1]

Prior to becoming Prime Minister, David Cameron was elected Leader of the Conservative Party in December 2005 on a mandate to change and modernise his Party. [...] This was the first time in over a half a century that two British parties had come together to put forward a programme for partnership government - to provide Britain with a strong and progressive government, and to put aside party differences to work for the common good and national interest. [2]

It is likely that he then explained the details of any coalition agreements made between the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats to his MPs. [4]

American Airlines

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

American Airlines and its parent company AMR Corp filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday after failing to win a labor deal with pilots and suffering from mounting fuel costs. [1]

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — American Airlines parent AMR, one of the few major U.S. airlines to avoid bankruptcy, finally succumbed Tuesday and filed for chapter 11. [2]

Saddled with an aging fleet of aircraft and high labor costs, the parent company of American Airlines filed for bankruptcy Tuesday, seeking protection from creditors while it restructures its operations. [3]

“American Airlines is operating normal flight schedules, honoring tickets and reservations as usual, and making normal refunds and exchanges. [...] Despite the bankruptcy filing, however, AMR promised customers it would be business as usual at its American and American Eagle units. [4]

Management probably became convinced that it could not achieve its desired cost cuts without bankruptcy and decided to file while it had the cash to sustain itself during restructuring, Neidl said. [...] AMR, which replaced its chief executive in the move, had been mired for years in fruitless union negotiations, complaining all the while that it shoulders higher labor costs than rival domestic and foreign carriers that have already restructured in bankruptcy. [5]

American Airlines parent AMR Corp. filed for bankruptcy after failing to secure cost-cutting labor agreements and sitting out a round of mergers that dropped it from the world’s largest airline to No. 3 in the U.S. With the filing, American became the final large U.S. full-fare airline to seek court protection from creditors. [...] View Photo Gallery -  Researchers Brent D. Bowen of Purdue University and Dean E. Headley of Wichita State University compile an annual list of airline quality ratings based on measures such as on-time arrivals, mishandled baggage, oversales and customer service. [3]

Bloomberg News writes that “with the filing, American became the final large U.S. full- fare (legacy) airline to seek court protection from creditors. [4]
