Sarah Palin

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

Sarah Palin, the first female governor of Alaska, was John McCain ’s running mate in the U.S. presidental elections of 2008. [1]

“Going Rogue”- Sarah Palin’s first book, “Going Rogue” was recently released, and it has been a top seller in the country. [2]

Rick Perry may be all the enticing that Sarah Palin needs to enter the race… at exactly the right time. [3]

Sarah Louise Palin (born February 11, 1964) is the former Governor of Alaska, having resigned before the completion of a single 4-year term, and was the Republican vice presidential nominee for the 2008 United States presidential election. [2]

Elected mayor of Wasilla, Alaska in 1996, and the state's first female governor in 2006. [4]

As onerous as the prospect of a Mitt Romney candidacy may be, the thought that Rick Perry might be our next president inspires the paraphrasing of an infamous George H.W. Bush slogan. [3]

“I’m not going to put Alaskans through that,” she said about the option of serving out the last 18 months of her term as governor as a lame duck. [5]

A new Republican primary narrative may be taking shape in the coming weeks and here is how it could play. [3]

As the Republican Party nominee for Vice President in the 2008 presidential election, she was the first Alaskan on the national ticket of a major party and the first Republican woman nominated for the vice-presidency. [1]

Many of them were compelled to unite behind Palin in 2008 due to the drubbing she was subjected to throughout the presidential election for campaigning for vice president while mothering an infant. [5]

She was Governor of Alaska from 2006 to 2009, gaining national attention in 2008, when John McCain chose her as the Republican candidate for Vice President. [3]

Palin, a relative unknown before the 2008 presidential election, managed to do what no GOP presidential candidate could for their party throughout the Republican primary: energize the conservative base. [5]

Palin is the second woman to run for vice president on a major-party ticket and the first Republican woman to do so. [2]

A Republican and a social conservative, she made (2002) an unsuccessful bid for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor and chaired (2003-4) the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. [1]

After an unsuccessful campaign for lieutenant governor of Alaska in 2002, she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003 to 2004 while also serving as Ethics Supervisor of the commission. [2]
