why did jj leave criminal minds

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

EXCLUSIVE MONDAY 7:50PM: Heading to Season 6, CBS’ successful crime drama Criminal Minds is trimming the female portion of its cast for what I hear are financial reasons. [1]

It looks like all those letters, tweets, and petitions (sort of) paid off: Exiting Criminal Minds star A.J. Cook will be back this fall for a brief stint to tie up JJ’s storyline. [2]

I’m told the option of series regular A.J. Cook has not been picked up and co-star Paget Brewster is being made an offer to stay for only a reduced number of episodes next season, leaving fan favorite Kristen Vangsness as the only remaining full-time female cast member. [1]

Brewster, meanwhile, will be back as Prentiss for “a significant number of episodes,” says a Minds insider. [2]

In her last case, they were trying to convict a rapist but were unable to catch him because Elle panicked and apprehended the man and he got out on the fact that they had nothing on him. [3]

It’s a shame that “The Longest Night” marked a career high point for Jennifer Jereau, a character who just delivered so strongly, only to be shown the door next week. [4]

Thanks to keyword tags, links to related pages and threads are added to the bottom of your pages. [5]

I hope they don’t make it too sad, or I will cry even days after. [6]

All the characters deserve more attention, more creativity, and less money managers meddling in creative decisions. [7]

We picked up right where we left off in May, with the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit fighting the Darkness, literally and otherwise. [4]

Criminal Minds is one of the few network shows worth watching and it’s because we are invested in the entire ensemble cast. [7]

Not because I don’t like the character (I do, very much) but it would have been interesting to see how the rest of the team dealt with it. [6]

Additionally, a Minds source confirms that her costar Paget Brewster ‘ who has been ironing out a reduced-episode arrangement with the show ‘ has finalized a deal to return as well. [2]

I’ll be crying at school if they kill JJ. [6]

ayodhya verdict latest news

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Paving the way for the Allahabad High Court to deliver its judgement in the 60-year-old Ramjanambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit, the Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the plea for postponing the verdict in the controversial Ramjanambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit case. [1]

The Supreme Court on Tuesday (September 28)lifted the stay on Allahabad High Court’s verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi- Babri Masjid title suit case. [2]

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday lifted its interim stay order on the contentious Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit case verdict which is to be delivered by the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court. [3]

A palpable sense of excitement filled Courtroom No 1–the Chief Justice of India’s Court–as arguments unfolded in Supreme court capped by a two-line order that ended the uncertainty on Tuesday over delivery of Ayodhya title suit verdict in one stroke. [4]

A three-judge special bench comprising of Chief Justice of India SH Kapadia, Justice Aftab Alam and Justice KS Radhakrishnan announced that the three-judge High Court bench could go ahead with the pronouncement of judgement while dismissing the special leave petition of Ramesh Chandra Tripathi that had appealed for deferment of the verdict so that an out-of-court settlement could be tried. [3]

With this, the way was paved for the High Court to give its judgement quickly in view of the fact that one of the judges of the three-member Bench, Justice D V Sharma, is to demit office on October 1. [5]

The court of Chief Justice S H Kapadia, who headed the three-judge bench hearing the plea for deferment of the verdict by the Allahabad High Court, was jam-packed right from 9 a.m though the case came up for arguments as scheduled only at 10.30 am. [4]

Soon after this ruling from the S, the petitioner retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chandra Tripathy’s senior counsel Mukul Rohatgi told TIMES NOW that the SC did not give any reason for rejection of the plea as it just dismissed the matter with a one line order. [...] That is after 50 years,” one of the three judges of the bench headed by Chief Justice S H Kapadia said. [...] Earlier today, the SC questioned the plea for deferment of the verdict on Ayodhya title suit, saying the lawyers appearing in the case were in favour of the Allahabad High Court judgement being pronounced. [2]

If there is any evidence that a foreign invader has built a Mosque or Church over a temple, then it is within the right of Hindus to reclaim the land and construct a temple over it. [5]

Earlier today, AG G E Vahanvati, appearing before a three-judge special bench headed by Chief Justice S H Kapadia, had said the most preferred solution to the problem would be settlement but it has not taken place and the uncertainty which is prevailing should not be allowed to continue. [2]

In fact, Senior Counsel Ravi Shankar Prasad requested the Bench to fix a date for the Allahabad High Court to pronounce its verdict, but the judges left their seats without any answer. [4]

Soon after the Supreme Court ruling, it came to light that the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court will pronounce the verdict on the 60-year old Ayodhya title suits on Thursday. [...] Amid apprehensions of trouble after the Ayodhya title suit verdict, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday appealed to the countrymen to maintain peace and harmony irrespective of the nature of the judgement. gliese 581 g

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

A team working out of Geneva say they have discovered a planet which may be capable of supporting life. [1]

Artist’s impression of Earthlike planet orbiting Gliese 581. [2]

), also known as Wolf 562 c and HIP 74995 c, is a “super-earth ” or large terrestrial extrasolar planet orbiting the red dwarf star Gliese 581. [3]

An artist’s impression of Gliese 581 d and speculative moons. [4]

The researchers will soon present their discovery in the professional journal Astronomy & Astrophysics. [1]

Assuming the planet’s mass is close to the lower limit determined by radial velocity measurements (the true mass is unknown), it would be the smallest known extrasolar planet around a main sequence star to date. [3]

) or Gl 581 d is an extrasolar planet orbiting the star Gliese 581 approximately 20 light-years away in the constellation of Libra. [4]

A typical radius for an M0 star of Gliese 581’s age and metallicity is 0.00128 AU, against the sun’s 0.00465 AU. [3]

Excitement has again spiked with the discovery of Gliese 581 g, believed to be the most “Earth-like” planet discovered to date, in September 2010. [5]

In October 2008, members of the networking website Bebo beamed A Message From Earth, a high-power transmission at Gliese 581, using the RT-70 radio telescope belonging to the National Space Agency of Ukraine. [4]

The planet is astronomically close, at 20.5 light years (194 trillion km or 120 trillion miles) from Earth in the direction of the constellation of Libra. [6]

A nearby red dwarf in the constellation of Libra around which have been found four extrasolar planets, including one (Gliese 581e) that is the lightest discovered to date (only about 1.9 times the mass of Earth) and another (Gliese 581d) that is the only low-mass planet known to orbit within its star’s habitable zone and which might therefore support permanent liquid water on its surface. [2]

There are even indications that Gliese 581 — one of the 100 stars closest to Earth, at a distance of only 20.5 light years — has a system of at least three planets. [1]

The star system first gained attention after Gliese 581 c, the first low mass extrasolar planet found to be near its star’s habitable zone, was discovered in April 2007. [...] Its estimated mass is about a third of that of the Sun, and it is the 87th closest known star system to the Sun. [5]

new planet

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Astronomers have also discovered more than 200 planets orbiting other stars. [1]

Technological advances, most notably in high-resolution spectroscopy, led to the detection of many new exoplanets at a rapid rate. [2]

“Like our own giant planets, Jupiter and Saturn, the planet is mostly made of hydrogen and helium,” said team member Tristan Guillot of the C?te d’Azure Observatory in Nice, France. [3]

Stars orbited by planets are a little bit different than other stars, and scientists can use that to quickly home in on new planets. [4]

It is unclear whether the companions should be regarded as planets or brown dwarfs. [2]

Astronomers have recently found hundreds of new planets. [4]

For many astronomers the Kuiper Belt has become an exciting spot for innovative research and has changed how they view the solar system. [5]

We are only beginning to discover how vast and strange our solar system truly is. [4]

… some astronomers distinguish stars from planets not by mass by how they formed. [1]

In the sixteenth century the Italian philosopher Giordano Bruno, an early supporter of the Copernican theory that the Earth and other planets orbit the Sun, put forward the view that the fixed stars are similar to the Sun and are likewise accompanied by their own planets. [2]

The batch of freshly discovered worlds include four that are only five or six times the mass of Earth, an encouraging sign in the quest for a truly Earth-like world that could support life. [...] Astronomers have announced the discovery of 32 new planets orbiting distant stars, bringing the list of known exoplanets up to more than 400. [3]

Since astronomers cannot go back in time to see exactly how something formed, Gibor Basri, a professor of astronomy at the University of California, Berkeley, invented the word, “planemo,” a shortening of “planetary mass object” (and pronounced PLAN-uh-moh), to describe any object with a mass less than 13 Jupiter masses regardless of how it formed. [1]

Meet Corot-9b, the newest find in the cavalcade of exoplanets and the one its discoverers say is most like the worlds of our own solar system. [...] In a star system 330 light years away from Earth, astronomers have spotted a giant planet that booms around its parent star in tight, fast circles, completing an orbit (the planet’s “year”) in less than one Earth day.
