Well, Bartleby Gaines (Justin Long) and his friends decide to create their own college, of course! [4]

inward eye

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Inward Eye is an indie-rock band, hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba in central Canada. [1]

The result of their labours is the Inward Eye EP rife with powerful anthems that crackle with bratty energy and recall the swinging riffs, shouted chants, and raw-nerve rock of their favourite bands. [2]

Canadian trio Inward Eye have earned comparison to a number of potent high-energy rock bands of the past, including the Clash, the Jam, and the Who, and they received the seal of approval from the latter group when the Who invited Inward Eye to open for them during a 2006 tour of Canada. [3]

The Inward Eye is a place to which one can come to learn about the role of imagery in creating, growing, and healing. [4]

Inward Eye is a 3-piece rock band of brothers from Winnipeg, Manitoba consisting of Dave (bass/vocals, 22), Kyle (guitar, 20) and Anders (drums, 18) Erickson. [1]

Recorded at producer Arnold Lanni’s (Simple Plan, Finger Eleven, Our Lady Peace) studio in Temecula, California the boys took the lessons learned from logging ungodly long trips in their van, criss-crossing the continent on tour, and put them to the test in the studio. [...] The EP will be available at all music retailers and on-line. [...] The lead off track “Shame” was serviced to Canadian rock and modern rock radio stations on January 19th, 2009. [...] Winnipeg Manitoba rockers Inward Eye will release their debut EP in Canada on January 27th, 2009. [2]

Located primarily in Philadelphia, The Inward Eye will also travel to offer workshops and groups. [4]

You should do Warped Tour again! [5]

With Anders’ manic drum fills, Kyle’s guitar outbursts, and Dave’s command of the audience, Inward Eye is bringing back a fun spontaneity to rock shows. [2]

First looking at them as a writing project, he quickly realized that they could write just fine on their own - so he produced two demos for the band, and put together a promo package that led to the involvement of producer Arnold Lanni (Simple Plan, Our Lady Peace, Finger Eleven) and Rob Lanni of Coalition Management (coalitionent.com). [1]

When the buzz spread about them, it spread fast — by 2004, Glen Willows (who in the ’80s played guitar with Canadian hitmakers Harlequin) and Rob Lanni had signed on as the group’s managers, and it wasn’t long before the band was filling clubs along Canada’s West Coast. [3]

Hi Dave, Kyle and Anders, here’s a photo of your last performance at The Sound Academy in Toronto, will see you this Friday at the same venue. [5]

uncle buck

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

In this cheerful, lightweight comedy, excruciatingly clumsy, disorganized, and messy Uncle Buck Russell (John Candy) becomes the screens most unlikely babysitter since Clifton Webb in Sitting Pretty. [1]

View company contact information for Uncle Buck on IMDbPro. [2]

Uncle Buck is a 1989 comedy starring John Candy, Amy Madigan, Jean Louisa Kelly and Gaby Hoffmann, and co-stars Macaulay Culkin, Georgia Carney, Jay Underwood and Laurie Metcalf. [3]

Introductions are made, but whilst the two youngest think Uncle Buck is swell, Tia is less impressed and begins a running battle to be independently obnoxious, even to the point of telling Buck’s girlfriend Chanice (Amy Madigan) false rumours about Buck and the over-amorous neighbour Marcie (Laurie Metcalf). [4]

The pilot caused a minor controversy in 1990 because of a scene where Maizy tells Uncle Buck: “You suck,” the first time this had happened in an American network TV series. [5]

Buck Russell (John Candy) is the Brother-In-Law from hell. [...] Just 576 featured ’80s movies with the best info on the web. [4]

Directed by John Hughes in his typical broad style, this youth-oriented comedy is perhaps the best role of John Candy ’s regrettably brief career. [...] While their parents are away, eight-year old Miles (Macaulay Culkin), six-year old Maizy (Gaby Hoffman) and their teen-aged sister, Tia (Jean Kelly) are left in the care of Buck. [1]

Tia resents her parents because she thought everyone was happy enough where they were already living and that they prefer their jobs to the family. [3]

Miles (another early role for Macauley Culkin) and Maisie (Hoffmann) are far too young to take care of themselves and the elder daughter Tia (Kelly)… well let’s just say she needs keeping an eye on. [4]

“Uncle Buck” is another hilarious movie John starred in. [...] John Candy has one of his finest opportunities in this film by John Hughes (The Breakfast Club) about a perpetual screw-up (Candy) who gets his act together enough to watch over his brother’s kids effectively. [6]

Buck meets Tia’s boyfriend, Bug (Jay Underwood), and instantly realizes that he is clearly only interested in sex with her. [1]

The loutish but well-meaning and sensitive Buck does the best he can; Miles and Maizy quickly bond with and adore him, but he repeatedly butts heads with the rebellious Tia. [3]
