Lawrence Francis O’Donnell, Jr. (born November 7, 1955) is a political analyst for the American cable news channel MSNBC who has appeared on The McLaughlin Group and The Al Franken Show. [2]
He wrote several episodes of The West Wing and was the creator and executive producer of the short-lived NBC drama, Mister Sterling (2003) As an actor, he is currently a semi-regular on HBO’s Big Love with Bill Paxton and a frequent guest host on Al Franken ’s radio show. [3]
In 1994, O’Donnell married television and movie actress Kathryn Harrold, best known for playing movie legend Lauren Bacall in the 1980 made-for-TV movie Bogie. [2]
How some of his West Wing scripts got by TV producers is understandable, but how some of the shows he was responsible for didn’t get the ire of Relgious Conservatives is beyond me. [...] This time, the object of O’Donnell’s obloquy is Mitt Romney, and in particular his Mormon religion. [1]
Look at it this way: O’Donnell attacks the only candidate in the race with explicitly progressive policy positions, and the only candidate in the race who hasn’t accepted corporate money, and the only candidate in the race who understands how corporations are poisoning American politics and American life with their unrestrained power and influence. [4]
His book Deadly Force became the made-for-TV movie A Case of Deadly Force (1986) starring Richard Crenna. [3]
In October 2004, while a guest on the MSNBC show Scarborough Country, O’Donnell shouted “liar” over and over again at fellow guest Swift Boat Spokesman John O’Neill. [2]
It was clear from the op-ed that Rove wrote a few weeks ago that the Republicans, whose own candidates run the gamut from the ridiculous (Fred Thompson) to the psychopathic (Rudolph Giuliani) and the theocratic (Huckabee) have already begun to see finagling the Democratic primary race as their only chance. [4]
He also frequently fills in for Keith Olbermann, hosting the Countdown with Keith Olbermann news commentary show on MSNBC when Olbermann is absent. [2]
Lawrence O’Donnell, already infamous for his in-your-face rant at John O’Neill of the Swiftboat Veterans, is at it again. [...] These “liberals” never see themselves for what they are—intolerant s.o.b.’s. [...] The Romans were told that the Christians “ate” their god and drank its blood! [1]
When I read Lawrence O’Donnell’s post calling John Edwards a “loser” and threatening a lifetime of infamy if he doesn’t get out of the race, I immediately went to O’Donnell’s bio to see his party affiliation. [4]
