The Transportation Security Administration, which oversees airport security, said the document is outdated. [1]

It was posted in March by TSA on the Federal Business Opportunity site. [1]

In a massive security breach, the Transportation Security Agency (TSA) inadvertently posted online its entire airport screening procedures manual, including some of the most closely guarded secrets regarding special rules for diplomats and CIA and law enforcement officers. [3]

The Vision 100 - Century of Aviation Reauthorization Act requires air carriers providing scheduled passenger air transportation to conduct basic security training for their flight and cabin crewmembers in order to prepare them for potential threat conditions that may occur onboard an aircraft. [4]

This Transportation Security Administration Sensitive Security Information document’s insecure means of redaction was first described in this report on the wandering aramean blog. [2]

Government workers preparing the release of a Transportation Security Administration manual that details airport screening procedures badly bungled their redaction of the.pdf file. [5]

The document outlines who is exempt from certain additional screening measures, including members of the U.S. armed forces, governors and lieutenant governors, the mayor of Washington, D.C., and their immediate families. [1]

The document spells out what gauge of wire — a component in bombs — TSA personnel should be able to detect with checkpoint X-ray machines; the special rules for clearing diplomats and CIA agents; and items that routinely escape screening, such as orthopedic shoes and wheelchairs. [2]

If I read it correctly, we can take photos while going through airport security. [6]

A government link to the document went dead Sunday but by then it had been picked up and widely circulated on the Internet and the mainstream media. [2]

Administered by the TSA Office of Law Enforcement / Federal Air Marshal Service, the Crew Member Self Defense Training (CMSDT) program is available to any actively employed flight or cabin crew member. [4]
