STILLWATER, Oklahoma - Oklahoma State announced today that All-American receiver Dez Bryant has been declared indefinitely ineligible by the NCAA for a violation of NCAA bylaw 10.1 (D). [1]
Bryant has stated that he made a mistake via his Facebook page, mentioning that he thought he was breaking the rules and lied about it so he could stay eligible and represent Oklahoma State as best as he could. [2]
Dez Bryant wrote a message on his Facebook page today that confirmed what some have suspected: Bryant’s suspension was the result of Oklahoma State trying to end his relationship with Deion Sanders, not an NCAA rules violation. [3]
ESPN Radio’s Doug Gottlieb, a former Oklahoma State basketball player, said today that Cowboy coaches told him last year that Bryant would “disappear” for days at a time to train with Primetime — who operates his own camp for NFL hopefuls, “Prime U,” — in Dallas, and found Sanders evasive when they tried to contact him about his relationship with Bryant.
