My friend then sent him a direct message about something Shaq had said in an interview once and an hour later, a reply from Shaq: “gimme a numba 2 call”. [...] Best of all, he’s having fun with it. [...] “Somebody out there was trying to use my language and trying to speak for me,” O’Neal, sounding more amused than offended, said Wednesday night in a telephone interview. washington huskies softball

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Danielle Lawrie (15) is greeted by Washington teammates at the plate after hitting a two-run home run in the first inning Sunday. [1]

After losing 9-8 in the first game of the day, the Huskies earn a 9-3 victory over Georgia to advance to the best-of-three title round against top-seeded Florida, starting today. [2]

OKLAHOMA CITY — Whether or not it proves to be the opening salutation in a new championship chapter of the Washington Huskies’ softball history, the ball that Niki Williams lined over the fence in the fourth inning of Thursday’s Women’s College World Series opener against Georgia marked the dawn of a new era in college softball. [...] It’s enough to make a person feel a little decrepit, even if 34-year-old Washington coach Heather Tarr is little more than a decade removed from playing for the Huskies in Oklahoma City. [3]

Lawrie, a finalist for USA Softball national player of the year, pitched three-hit shutout and pounded two long two-run home runs in Washington’s 7-0 victory over Georgia Tech. [1]

After Georgia trimmed the lead to a single run on an RBI double from Taylor Schlopy in the top of the fifth, Huskies freshman Kimi Pohlman provided a key insurance run with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth (albeit aided by a curious cutoff of a throw that might have made for a close play at the plate if left unmolested). [3]

The victory gave Washington its ninth-ever berth in the Women’s College World Series, and its first since 2007. [...] Lawrie, a finalist for the USA Softball award, pitched a three-hit shutout and pounded two long, two-run home runs in Washington’s 7-0 victory over Georgia Tech before a Mewman Field-record crowd of 1,117. [...] Washington got two other home runs in the game — from Alicia Blake off Coan, and Ashlyn Watson off reliever Kristen Adkins — for its first four-homer game of the season. [1]

Stay on top of the 2009 NCAA softball tournament. [...] Williams became the first player born in the 1990s to hit a home run in the World Series. [...] Before the game against Georgia, Charters — who showed a nation what teams in the Pac-10 had long known with her breakout performance in the 2007 WCWS — asked her freshman prot?g?e if she was nervous. [3]

Washington’s Danielle Lawrie, left, is greeted at home plate by teammates after her first-inning grand slam against Georgia in an elimination game. [2]

The blast from Williams, her first home run since Feb. 27 against Seattle University and just the third of her freshman season, staked Washington to a 2-0 lead in the eventual 3-1 win. [3]

Lawrie hit home runs Sunday in the first and third innings, both times over the left-field fence off Tech freshman pitcher Jessica Coan (8-5). [1]

tiller sebelius

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

On Friday afternoon, March 27, it took a Wichita jury just 45 minutes to acquit Dr. George Tiller of 19 misdemeanor charges relating to his prolific late-term abortion business. [1]

The Senate is expected to confirm Sebelius despite the efforts of leading pro-life advocates. [2]

Kathleen Sebelius, governor of Kansas, was caught under-reporting campaign contributions from the notorious late-term abortionist George Tiller. [3]

Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, President Obama’s nominee to head the Department of Health and Human Services, has come under fire this week for misstating how much money she received from a controversial late-term abortionist. [4]

This time, scrutiny of a report Sebelius made to the Senate Finance Committee revealed she failed to accurately report the total amount of campaign contributions she received from Kansas abortion czar George Tiller. [3]

A U.S. Senate committee approved April 21 the nomination of Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to head the Department of Health and Human Services in spite of her underreporting of campaign contributions from the country’s most notorious abortion doctor. [2]

Barack Obama has nominated Kathleen Sebelius to be Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. [5]

Sebelius has a long record of supporting abortion rights. [4]

When at an abortion clinic in Miami, a living-breathing baby is born out of a blotched abortion and the baby is thrown alive into a plastic bag, the nation is appalled and the doctor is charged with two felonies and potential prison time. [6]

And for those paying attention, the real help came not in the courtroom but in the proverbial back room where, some three years earlier, Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius engineered the deal that would keep Tiller’s practice alive. [1]

And for those paying attention, the real help came not in the courtroom but in the proverbial back room where, some three years earlier, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius engineered the deal that would keep Tiller’s practice alive. [7]

She is a woman whom as governor of Kansas has vigorously vetoed restrictions against late-term abortions that are performed on babies from 6th-9th months therefore protecting one of the most prolific abortion doctors in America, Dr. George Tiller from Wichita. [6]

After Sebelius originally reported $12,450 in contributions from Tiller and others affiliated with the doctor, it was disclosed that total donations actually were $39,600, according to The Topeka (Kan.) Capital-Journal. [2]

The revelation that she received almost three times as much political money from George Tiller then she originally told senators has suddenly put her recently considered smooth confirmation in jeopardy. [4]

Particular emphasis will be on news print, radio and television media reaching areas surrounding the Kansas City Metro area. [1]

I really don’t know why I still watch that show, and then along come these Leighton Meester bikini pictures, and I am once again reminded. [1]

Gossip Girl babes Leighton Meester, Jessica Szohr, Taylor Momsen and Blake Lively were on hand to woo advertisers today (May 21) at The CW Network UpFront at Madison Square Garden in New York City. [2]

Published 2009-05-10 19:40:42 on Posh 24 - At this weeks big celebrity party, the charity event at Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, some celebrities looked like real fashion disasters. [1]

Maybe only the short notice: Besides the obviously gorgeous figure, face, hair, Leighton shows more cleavage than ever. [3]

It’s a departure from the very girly looks we’re used to seeing her in for Gossip Girl, but Leighton/Blair is pretty much fashion eye candy either way. [4]

On this week’s Gossip Girl, Little J breaks into the bigtime, staging a guerrilla fashion show (Dan: “I don’t even know what that means!”) to drum up some interest in her renegade fashion line. [5]

Leighton Meester debuted a sexy body-conscious look at the Tribeca Film Festival, complete with bustier and asymmetrical belt. [4]

Better known for their style than their careers, hosts Kate Bosworth and Chloe Sevigny were among the many celebrity fashionistas who stepped out last night (April 23) for the Chlo? boutique opening celebration party at Milk Studios in Los Angeles. [2]

This Pencey dress fits her like a dream and the white accenting takes the usually Fall-friendly olive green and updates it for a fresh look. [4]

The 23-year-old actress hit up the celeb-friendly eatery after attending the star-studded premiere of Star Trek. [...] It was hotness times two today as Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly were seen filming scenes for their new movie, The Roommate, on location today (May 14) in Los Angeles. [2]

Vote on this week’s styles including Cameron Diaz, Blake Lively and more stars! [4]

Basically, these pictures need no further explanations. [3]

Leighton Meester and Sophia Bush wore some inspired dresses, and Heidi Klum posed for photographers doing the famous hand sign! [6]

That, naturally, means the black eyeliner is out in full force, along with the influence of Agnes, who ‘ if nothing else ‘ certainly knows how to get press. [5]

You may (and should) complete and submit your AADSAS without your DAT scores. [2]

Interviews start as early as October and continue as late as February. [3]

To get an idea of a successful dental school essay I have been collecting several examples over the past couple of years from reader submissions. [4]

The time is approaching for the dental school applicant to You should have started thinking about your AADSAS essay by this time of the year. [5]

You can remain anonymous, but please send in the number of interviews, acceptances, and where you have chosen to attend school. [4]

[...] Before mailing your material, you should have others proofread your completed AADSAS application for typographical errors, spelling, grammar, and completeness and clarity of thought. [...] Pay particular attention to the autobiographical information requested for the AADSAS. [2]

Most schools (not all) accept students on a rolling basis; so first come, first serve. [3]

GPA, Dental Admission Test, DAT, scores, extracurricular activities, hobbies, manual dexterity skillz, and dental shadowing hours are some of the many pieces of the application. [4]

… the more complete and personal autobiography that will be requested by the USU Prehealth Professions Evaluation Committee can serve as a framework for writing this. [2]
