Born on July 30 1986 in Edison New Jersey, Tom Dwan attended the Boston University as an English Major for one year before giving it up in favor of poker. [4]

Tom Dwan grew up in New Jersey as part of a sizable but close-knit family. [5]

One of the toughest poker players around is known as durrrr. [4]

Though he first deposited money into an online poker account during his senior year in high school, it took some time to run that first $50 into a workable bankroll. [...] The loose college schedule allowed him to play poker online quite often, and the urge to play poker soon took over that of attending class. [5]

By the time he turned 18 he had won around $15,000 and was looking for higher stakes to play in. [3]

He began playing online and soon enough he found out he was very good at reading his opponents hands. [4]

Durrrr only averaged $1,600.90 per hand, but the fact that he won 169 more hands made up the difference between the two. [6]

After finding he could beat these games he turned to cash games where he grinded through the low stakes, building up his bankroll before reaching his current level of play which is often $500/$1000 stakes in which he plays against other notable professional players such as Phil Ivey, David Oppenheim, David Benyamine, John Juanda and Patrik Antonius. [1]

The Chilipoker website generates traffic showing approximately 10,500 ring-game players and 15,000 tournament players at peak hours. [7]

Another online site Tom Dwan visits regularly is PokerStars where he uses the screen name of Hold_emNL. [4]
