dancing with the stars elimination

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Week 4 of “Dancing With the Stars” started off without an injury report! [1]

Safety Dance: After an alleged stalker of Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson was discovered and arrested outside of the Dancing with the Stars studio last week, it was evident security was heightened and tightened. [2]

In a “DWTS” twist, Steve-O and Steve Wozniak — the judges’ least favorite stars this week — were declared safe early on. [3]

Here’s your chance to help design a very special Dancing with the Stars performance — from the type of dance to selecting the actual dancers and costumes! [4]

This week’s “Dancing” duos with the lowest combined totals — Denise Richards and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and Holly Madison and Dmitry Chaplin — competed against each other in a dance-off on Tuesday night, with the losing team going home! [3]

DAVID ALAN GRIER — Grier is often recognized for his work in television and film - in TV he is known from roles in In Living Color, Life with Bonnie with Bonnie Hunt, DAG, and most recently, Chocolate News for Comedy Central. [...] The Go-Gos’ 1981 multi-platinum hit debut, “Beauty and the Beat,” spawned mega hits “Our Lips Are Sealed” and “We Got the Beat” and made the Go-Go’s the first all-female band (who wrote their own music and played their own instruments) to achieve a #1 album. [5]

Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris welcome a new series of teams, each made up of a celebrity and a professional dance partner, with performances to be evaluated by returning judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. [1]

Reprising the salsa that on Monday night scored them a paltry 16, Denise and Maksim stormed the dance floor next, and the judges were impressed. [3]

This all-new series airs on ABC after Dancing, Mondays at 10/9c! [4]

The new judges scores from the “Dance-Off” and the viewers votes from the first 2 weeks will be combined to determine the eliminated couple. [5]

The judges gave 10s across the board to Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke for their passion-filled tango. [2]

If you would have asked any Dancing with the Stars fan who the last person they expected to be eliminated from the contest last night, the answer would have been Sabrina Bryan. [6]

Since then, Steve-O tweaked his back, Steve Wozniak fractured his foot, Gilles Marini has tendonitis in his shoulder and Holly Madison suffered pain in her side. [2]

Come back the day after the performance show to see exclusive video clips of backstage confessionals from the stars! [4]

cupid abc

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Against my better judgment of the ludicrous premise that is at the heart of “Cupid,” I was smitten as if the diapered god himself had shot me through the heart. [1]

As one of an insufficiently large number of fans of Rob Thomas romantic dramedy “Cupid,” which starred Jeremy Piven and Paula Marshall and aired only 14 episodes before being canceled by ABC in 1999, I greeted with mixed feelings the news of its retooled return. [2]

This basically means that “Cupid” will die a critically acclaimed death sometime in the next few months after the ABC execs jerk the show around as they have done with “My So-Called Life” and “Relativity,” to name a few. [1]

As part of a previously announced development deal, ABC has now asked Thomas to develop a new version of Cupid. [3]

In October 2007, with the possibility of a writers strike looming, ABC announced plans to remake the series. [4]

ABC had been kicking around ideas with Rob Thomas, the original series creator who had gone on to other projects like “Veronica Mars.” [5]

As fate would have it, Cupid, sometimes known as Trevor Hale, is under the care of famous psychologist and self-help author Dr. Claire Allen. [6]

Three months later, Trevor is found to be harmless to himself and others and is released — but under certain conditions. [7]

Cupid is a 1998-1999 American comedy-drama series created by Rob Thomas, which featured Paula Marshall as Dr. Claire Allen, a Chicago psychologist who is given charge of a man named Trevor Hale (Jeremy Piven). [8]

Trevor Pierce is a larger than life character who insists that he is Cupid, the Roman god of love. [7]

In March of 2008, the network gave a greenlight for a pilot and in August ordered 13 episodes. [4]

Placed under the care of psychiatrist and self-help author Dr. Claire McCrae, he must attend her singles group therapy sessions on a regular basis so that she can monitor his progress. [7]

Claire does not take well to being upstaged at her own group but is ultimately unable to give Cupid the boot, perhaps because she sees him as the basis for her next book, “The Search for Cupid.” [1]

Only 16 episodes of the 1998 series were created before the show and stars Jeremy Piven, Paula Marshall, and Jeffrey D. Sams were pink-slipped. [4]

Even though Claire disagrees with Trevor’s methods, she can’t argue with the sentiment, since she too is dedicated to helping lonely hearts find their soul mates. [6]

The 154 users who count themselves as Cupid (1998) fans have written a total of 9 reviews. [2]

ABC Studios and Sony Television team up with Rob Thomas to bring back his 1998 series about a man who believes he is Cupid, who has been sent to earth by Zeus to help 100 couples get together as punishment for his arrogance-without any magic. [1]

Cupid is a 1998-1999 American comedy-drama series created by Rob Thomas, which featured Paula Marshall as Dr. Claire Allen, a Chicago psychologist who is given charge of a man named Trevor Hale (Jeremy Piven). [3]

There has been no proof so far that Trevor really is Cupid and for all we know, he really could be just another nutcase. [2]

Cupid is a television series that premiered on ABC on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 10:02 PM Eastern /9:02 PM Central. [4]

Yet, his ability to bring couples together, his great knowledge of Greek mythology and many other elements can only make one wonder. [2]

Filming for the new series was done on three different occasions in Manhattan ‘ the latest being in December 2008. [...] Whether by fate or other circumstances, Trevor Pierce (Bobby Cannavale; character was originally Trevor Hale, played by Jeremy Piven) is under the care of psychiatrist and self-help author Dr. Claire McCrae (Sarah Paulson; character was originally Claire Allen), whose own work is often based in romantic relationships. [4]

This is the story of a man who claims to be Cupid sent to Earth as a punishment. [2]

There is no episode information for Cupid. [1]

Originally broadcast on ABC on Saturday evenings at 10 p.m. [3]

To earn his place back on Mount Olympus, he must reunite a hundred couples without the use of magic. [2]

The series is a revival of sorts of the network’s 1998 series of the same name, changing its primary setting from Chicago to New York City. [...] A follow-up report published in The Hollywood Reporter in March 2008 noted that the network had received initial scripts for the series and approved production for episodes to broadcast as a mid-season replacement for 2008 or 2009.
