Tele-BEARS is a web-based system that students use to enroll in classes. [1]

Also, ask other students about instructors they’ve enjoyed. [2]

To ensure a fair distribution of courses, students enroll in two phases followed by an adjustment period. [3]

The Office of the Registrar mails registration packets to continuing students shortly before Tele-BEARS begins. [4]

Do be aware of exam group conflicts; Tele-BEARS will inform you if you have signed up for courses with the same exam groups. [2]

Go to the Tele-BEARS webpage at telebears.berkeley.edu. [...] To ensure a fair distribution of courses for all students, enrollment takes place in two phases followed by an adjustment period. [5]

You are allowed to enroll in up to the maximum number of units allowed by your college or school (e.g. 20.5 for Letters and Science undergraduates). [6]

It’s a good idea to plan several alternate schedules so you won’t waste your time hunting through the Schedule of Classes or the General Catalog during your actual Tele-BEARS appointment. [2]

You are free to adjust your schedule as long as you stay within the 10.5/12.5 unit limit. [5]

Do try to get some basic courses (like a math course or Reading & Composition 1A-1B) and breadth requirements (see your College or School Announcement). [2]

Berkeley’s interactive enrollment and registration system is called Tele-BEARS (for Berkeley Enrollment And Registration System-remember that for your next trivia game). [...] Appointments are not needed for the adjustment period, but access to Tele-BEARS is by an alphabetical schedule (also at registrar.berkeley.edu). [6]

Tele-BEARS has several features designed to increase instructor control over student enrollment. [1]

Manual waiting lists can be processed at anytime from the beginning of Phase I through Friday of the fifth week of instruction. [3]
