BHEJA FRY is one such film. [1]

Bheja Fry is a 2007 Bollywood film and is a remake of the French movie Le D?ner de cons. [2]

Sagar Ballary’s directorial debut blatantly borrows most aspects of the French film — evident from any googled summary — yet is clearly soaked in curry, thick and very desi gravy aimed to make you want to watch it, on its own merit. [3]

The Mumbai boy had attended the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute in Kolkata, worked with Zee as an assistant director and assisted director Rajat Kapoor [Images] in Raghu Romeo and Mixed Doubles. [4]

Beginning with, I must say this movie, knit around few characters is a real winner in its own sense. [5]

It’s not a smart move, inviting comparison and critical condescension, while just trying to make a movie they assume few have seen. [3]

One of Ranjeet’s friends meets Bharat Bhushan (Vinay Pathak) on a trip to Pune and decides that he could probably be a source of entertainment for Ranjeet. [2]

It has its limitations since it caters to a select audience, but the film dares to push the envelope further. [...] Whether it’s the rift between a married couple [Rajat Kapoor, Sarika] or the other people involved in their lives [Milind Soman, Bhairavi Goswami] or a man finding out that his wife is cheating on him [Ranveer Shorey], Ballary injects humor in every situation. [1]

Bharat is a talkative self promoting singer who carries with him a scrap book showcasing his musical life. [2]

He ends up spending the evening with this idiot, Bharat Bhushan [Vinay Pathak], who tries to help him get his wife [Sarika] back, who left him earlier that day. [1]

Ranjeet Thadani (Rajat Kapoor) is a music producer married to Sheetal (Sarika) a singer. [2]

It’s always tragic when young directors start off their careers with scripts originating out of foreign DVDs. [...] Rajat Kapoor is a fine actor, but this is him at his absolute worst, groan-provoking in his affected portrayal of a music industry scoundrel, condescending yet clueless, and with a mistress angle that really doesn’t make as much sense in India. [...] The senior actress, who plays Rajat’s singer wife, suffers from an awfully written character, one expected to randomly hop to another man’s house the night she’s left her husband. [3]
