strong s concordance

July 3rd, 2009

Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, generally known as Strong’s Concordance, is a concordance of the King James Bible (KJV) that was constructed under the direction of Dr. James Strong (1822′1894) and first published in 1890. [...] Although the Greek words in Strong’s Concordance are numbered 1′5624, the numbers 2717 and 3203′3302 are unassigned due to “changes in the enumeration while in progress”. [1]

Note: If you do not know the Strong’s number offhand, you can search for it by typing an English word in the LexiConc. [2]

The use of Strong’s numbers is not a substitute for professional translation of the Bible from Hebrew and Greek into English by those with formal training in ancient languages and the literature of the cultures in which the Bible was written. [1]

The New Englishman’s Greek Concordance and Lexicon of the New Testament, by Wigram-Green *These two books by Wigram-Green are what Strong’s concordance is based upon. [3]

Every word in the bible is listed by (the original Greek and Hebrew)Strongs# rather than by English translation. [3]

It is nicknamed “LexiConc” because it is a concordance of the Lexicon. [2]

Due to the helpful nature of the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, we have incorporated this tool into our Online Study Bible search engine, enhancing it’s usefulness. [4]

For a more in-depth study, our website offers an online Greek and Hebrew Interlinear Bible for the New and Old Testament, lexicons for original Greek and Hebrew translations of Scripture, as well as Church history. [5]

Combining the text of the King James Bible with the power of the Greek and Hebrew Lexicons, any student or pastor can gain a clear understanding of the Word to enrich their study. [4]

Strong’s Concordance is not a translation of the Bible nor is it intended as a translation tool. [1]

You can also order the KJV “Hebrew Greek Key Study bible” which has built-in lexicons and Strong’s numbering within the actual text of King James, or if you prefer you can also get it in New American Standard. [...] HUNDREDS OF ANGLO-ISRAEL BOOKS FREE TO EUROPEANS! [3]

jonathan winters

July 3rd, 2009

Jonathan Winters is a brother of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity (Lambda chapter). [1]

Jonathan Winters was an utter original, a wildly improvisational comic whose work careened from childlike prankishness to bitter satire and from bizarre sound effects to straight-faced moralizing — often all within the same bit. [2]

The real Jonathan Winters was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 11, 1925. [...] Eileen encouraged Jonathan to enter a local talent contest in Dayton, which he did, and he won a wrist watch, but the performance led him to a job as an early morning disc-jockey on radio station WING in Dayton (1946). [3]

Mercurial and manic, Winters veered from character to character and premise to premise at breakneck speed, yet with balletic grace; for all of the seeming chaos inherent in his comedy, his aesthetic remained remarkably consistent and pure, his stream-of-consciousness narratives and radical concepts all refracted through the same singularly bent worldview. [2]

His interest in art led him to Dayton Art Institute where he studied for over two years and met the girl who would become his wife, Eileen. [3]

Jonathan Harshman Winters III (born November 11, 1925) is an American comedian and actor. [...] In 1957, he performed in the first color television show, a 15-minute routine sponsored by Tums. [1]

According to the book “Tomorrow I Die”, Winters appeared in the short film “Screen Test of Mike Hammer” as a wino. [4]

Winters was born in Bellbrook, Ohio, the son of Alice Kilgore (n?e Rodgers), a radio personality, and Jonathan Harshman Winters II, an investment broker. [...] He began comedy routines and acting while studying at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. [...] The comedian referred to this incident obliquely in his stand-up act, most famously on his 1960 comedy album The Wonderful World of Jonathan Winters. [1]

After serving two-and-a-half years in the South Pacific, he returned to Ohio and attended Kenyon College. [3]

After appearing in the 1963 feature comedy It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, he returned to the studio to record 1964’s Whistle Stopping, a concept album written by future Tonight Show scribe Pat McCormick commenting on the upcoming presidential elections. [2]

He is a descendant of Valentine Winters, founder of the Winters National Bank in Dayton, Ohio (now part of JPMorgan Chase). [1]
